How to destroy Center of Revolution whose owner is not the Target? (2024)

Hi guys,

I have 2 questions relating Revolution, coring distance and Hegemony.

: What is the best way to destroy a Center of Revolution?

In my current Confucian Mughal Emperor of China run the Center of Revolution appeared in the province of Asturias (León was the owner), but the Revolutionary Target is Milan.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that the Crush the Revolution casus belli allows us to destroy the Center if we dismantle the Revolution and the Center is owned by the Target. Am I right? Or the Center would not disappear?

Since I thought that is the way to destroy the Center and since Milan didn't own that, I declared on Portugal (León's overlord), then I took the province, then I declared on Milan just to give them the province. But this happened:

Milan had acces to the sea, and had high Diplo tech. Definitly Milan had the coring distance to take provinces in Spain, but I was able to offer only neighbour provinces to Milan.

So my

: Is this WAD? Can't we offer provinces not adjacent to the enemy?

So I had to white peace. Then I declared on France some years before I planned just to take French South, then I declared on a Milan's ally just to offer to Milan a series of provinces in South of France and North of Spain, all the way to the Center. Of course it is my worst day in the game in many years: after giving the provinces in the peace deal, I instantly lost my Economic Hegemony (I did'nt know it is lost with defeats to secondary participants in wars...). That was terrible because I own all Asia (but India) and all Africa as TCs. But the real bad thing: when trying to declare again on Milan with Crush the Revolution, this option does'nt show up. The Crush the Revolution CB is available only without truces... I did'nt know that either. And now instead of 3 provinces at a time getting the Revolution I think it is 10 or 12 at the same time... At least the run was too easy and now will be not so much.

I believe you hit the crap of revolution in a way that many do. I am not aware of any fix for that, especially when being emperor of china. One of those features no one bothered to test in real-life scenarios.

If you have 100% warscore AI has to accept anything you propose, perhaps you would fix your issue by bumping warscore to 100%, it seems that with 99% it's more of 'AI does not want it' than anything else.

As if EU4 is straight forward, lol. Have you seen BI or the Netherlands declaring independence? What about the Iberian Wedding or how mercs work now? Truth is, there was a time when the game was more straightforward and many different mechanics have varying degrees of straightforwardness.

Rant aside, Revolutions are poorly explained in-game, which can be easily observed by the amount of people either getting frustrated or asking how to embrace/destroy it on this forum. The simple fact that you can't see the Revolution disaster until 20% of your provinces have embraced the revolution is odd.

The revolution is by far the worst part of the game, you put forth so much effort only for the last part of it to be completely ruined by the stupidest possible revolution system

I dont think it was that. Because we can see they dont want the province looking at the red hands in the peace deal. But the message that caught my attention was the lack of coring distance.

Thanks guy, it probably was that. All the way was not blockaded, but its only coastal province was occupied... I didnt know that detail.

I think it is amazing how I can learn simple things even after 3k hours of playing and many WCs. It shows that the game is very complex and at the same time has terrible UI and tooltips, because of so many information we should be provided and we are not!

I can’t even figure out how to get rid of it in my own province... and Ottomans became the target.

In another game, it spawned in Bengal. SEA is going rev happy. Thankfully I’m getting no malus.

In our own province it is quite eady, but takes time.

You need to wait for the disaster be possible, then let the disaster happen (decrease stability or take loans to make it faster), then choose to go either revolutionary (you will keep the center), or against revolution. In the latter case just kill the rebels and put stab back to 3, then the disaster and the center vanish and your provinces will lose the malus and become immune to it.

You need to have 50% of your provinces with the malus of revolution. So in this meantime accumulate ADM mana. As soon as you fire the disaster, kill the rebels and increase stability.

But guys, no one knows about the 1st question?

If I dismantle the revolution in the Target and the Center is a Target's province, then the Center vanishes.

Is it correct?

Worst part of revolution that you can't get rid of it if your country super stable. You NEED be unstable to fire disaster. Or eat decreased autonomy. Every game I forsed to truce break for destabilise my country because there are no other way.

If you have colonists, just go to the coring tab and succecively change the native policy until stab drops to -1 (or zero, I dont remember the disaster right now).

I know about what, but not all countries go for colonies. Honestly I prefer to conquer them later then doing minigame early. And in general it is not a problem to get stabhit, problem what you need to get it to progress through new mechanic.

Note: this only works if you have Cossacks.

This actually does not work sometimes. In my game, killing all the rebels and having three stability was not enough to end the disaster. There is something else to it, or there is a serious bug in the game right now
