Gordon George Benane AUGUST 28, 1960 DECEMBER 13, 2013 GRAND COULEE, WA BEAUFORT Susan Lloyd Allen, 67, of Beaufort, NC passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at home. She is survived by her husband, Lee Parker Allen; her beloved dog, Cassie; her daughters, Melissa Allen Huffstetler of Raleigh and Jennifer Allen Mc- Ninch of Southern Shores; her son, John Corey Allen and wife Allison Stolz Allen of German- town, MD; her mother, Helen Hoxie Tomlinson of Beaufort; and her brother John Charles Lloyd and wife Robin Presnell Lloyd of Mocksville. She was additionally blessed with six grandchildren, Jack and Kate Huffstetler; Alasdair, Cullen, and Maggie McNinch; and Dy- lan Allen. She was preceded in death by her father, John Thomas Lloyd. Susan was born December 8, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Louisburg, NC where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Lee.

After graduating from the Col- lege of Great Falls, Montana, she taught high school English before embracing her true calling as mother. She loved her church, and this pas- sion was evident through her deep level of involvement. At Hayes Barton United Method- ist in Raleigh, Susan started the Martha Ministry, served as a Stephen Minister, was a long- time member of the Seekers Class, and sang in the Chapel Choir. At Ann Street United Methodist in Beaufort, she was most recently President of the United Methodist Women and sang in the Martin Choir. She was the heart and soul of her family and well-loved by all those who had the privilege to know her.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, January 10:00 at 11:00 AM at Ann Street United Methodist Church in Beaufort. He was the oldest son of John Asbury and Lula walker Fisher. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Butner a contractor and retired after 42 years of service in the N.C. Na- tional Guard. NASHVILLE Cicero Daniel Jones II, 77, passed away, Monday, January 6, 2014. He was born July 18, 1936 in Nash County to the late John Thomas and Lois Connor Jones. C.D. loved the Tar- heels and he enjoyed sports of all kinds. C.D.

was an avid reader and a pilot. He was a member of the Rocky Mount York Rite Bodies, the Past Master of the Morning Star Lodge 85, the Rocky Mount Shrine Club and served as the chaplain of the Sudan Shrine Temple. C.D. was also a mem- ber of the Nashville Chapter 332, Order of the Eastern Star in which he held many Everyone who knew him will remember his smile and his love for friends and family. She retired with 30 years service with NC DMV. Myrtle was active in her church and following retire- ment, made quilts and ceramic nativity scenes for each of her children and grandchildren. She traveled to 48 states with the Garner Travelers. She en- joyed camping and summers on Creek and Lake Gaston. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m.

20, 1922 JAN. 6, 2014 CARY Knox Pollard, 88, loving father, grandfather and avid Tarheel, died January 7, 2014. Knox was born in Durham, NC on June 19, 1925 to Charles and Isla Sykes Pollard. Jeremy Douglas Callaway LA GRANGE Eunice Tilghman Wade, 83, of La Grange, journeyed to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Eunice was born April 19, 1930 in Duplin Coun- ty to the late Al- bert Tilghman and Della Mae Lane Tilghman.

She was wife of the late Kermit Marshall Wade. In addition to her parents and husband, Eunice was preceded in death by her step-father who raised her from a young age, Roland Tilghman, son, Fred Marshall Wade; and three sib- lings, Dorothy Mae Ferguson, Marilyn Pittman and Sidney Tilghman. Eunice was a longtime mem- ber of Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church where she was active in the ladies circle and sang in the choir for as long as her health permitted. She began working at Britthaven Nursing Home, La Grange in 1967 where she worked twenty plus years before retiring. Eunice loved cooking, reading, and tending to her yard and garden.

She cher- ished trips to the beach with Yvonne, lunch with her sisters and spending time with all her family. Eunice T. Wade APRIL 19, 1930 JAN. 7, 2014 PINEVILLE Jeane Aiken Daniel Dennis, 74, of Pineville, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 after a six month battle with brain can- cer. Jeane was born on April 29, 1939 in Dur- ham, NC to the late Susan Ai- ken Daniel and Aubrey Clark Daniel. She graduated from Durham High School and at- tended Wake Forest Univer- sity where she was a member of the String Society, and the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi.

Af- ter three years in Miami, Jeane spent eleven years in Raleigh, before moving with her three children to Wilmington, where she worked as a legal secretary and then at General Electric. Jeane made a good life for her- self, and in turn, made a great life for her children. She retired from GE in 2001 and moved to Pineville to be closer to family. Jeane enjoyed retirement to the fullest. She was an active member of Providence Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School class.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing ca- nasta, cooking and eating good Southern food and following her academic, artistic and athletic pursuits. She loved watching Carolina Panthers games and any and all Wake Forest athletic events. Jeane was devoted to her fam- ily and her many friends. She had a passion for life, a quick smile, a keen sense of humor and was ever the optimist. She loved the Lord and even when times were tough, her faith re- mained strong.

Over the past three years, while two different cancers, Jeane could often be seen wearing her necklace. Jeane is survived by three children; Kimberly Dennis Powell and husband, David, of Charlotte, Jeffrey Todd Dennis and wife, Donna, of Raleigh and Kevin Dennis of Charlotte, as well as three grandchildren who were the joys of her life; Hunter Clark Powell and Lindsey Bur- nette Powell of Charlotte and Jakob Law- rence Dennis of Raleigh. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Daniel Ellwanger and husband, Scott, of Charlotte, and a niece, Susan Ellwanger and a nephew, Chris Ellwanger and their families. The family would like to thank Dr. Andrea McGrath, Dr.

Jennie Hauschka, Dr. Rob- ert Higgins, Dr. William Bobo, Dr. Tony Asher, Dr. Daniel Haggstrom, their staffs and the many people associated with the Levine Cancer Institute for the excellent care that was given to Jeane during her ill- ness.
